DECKED was started as a group effort by 6 fresh Chicago artists decking the walls of the Chicago Art Department gallery with their customized skateboard decks in 2012. It was intended to be a one night event. But since then, DECKED became a traveling show around Chicago.
For the initial show, each artist designed and illustrated 5 skateboard decks. With a series of 5, I dedicated my decks to my favorite basketball team growing up, the Fab Five of the University of Michigan Wolverines made up of Ray Jackson, Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, and Jimmy King. Since then, the decks had been sold for charity fundraising.
